David Morwood and his legion of musician friends has turned the Hyatt Regency's Fireplace Lounge into a weekend destination for jazz fans. But all of that comes to an end on March 8. Sad, but true: the lounge is slated for a lengthy renovation. However, that's not stopping Morwood from throwing one last musical fling. And he's doing it up big—as in three days of peace, love and music headlined by former Santana (who performs with Tower of Power and has 11 Grammys...so you know, pretty good) lead singer Tony Lindsay, Japanese sensation Mayumi Abe and the flute specialist Tim Jackson. Abe heads up a happy hour show on March 6. Lindsay takes the stage that evening. On March 7, it's Jackson's turn. And the weekend closes with a jazz jam on March 8. And then it's a two-month break for demo and reconstruction. But what a send-off!
